The opening stroke is determined by the lead. Both players place their lag ball on the head line in
the left and right halves of the game. The playout happens at the same time. Whoever places his
ball on the foot board as close as possible to the head board after playing determines who takes
the opening kick. If the object ball touches one of the longitudinal ties, the longitudinal line or is
sunk, the lead is lost for this player.
